About

Brown Memorial Home is a nonprofit, faith-based independent retirement community that has been enriching the lives of older adults in Abilene since 1926. Nestled within the scenic surroundings of Brown Memorial Park, the community provides adults age 65 and older with an active, maintenance-free lifestyle in a welcoming environment that encourages independence, fellowship, and purposeful living. Founded through the vision and generosity of philanthropist C.L. Brown, Brown Memorial Home continues its long-standing mission of providing affordable, high-quality retirement living rooted in dignity, compassion, and community.

Residents enjoy comfortable accommodations, three home-cooked meals each day, housekeeping and laundry services, wellness check-ins, recreational activities, walking trails, and opportunities for spiritual growth through daily devotions and community gatherings. While maintaining an independent lifestyle, residents benefit from a supportive community where friendships flourish and quality of life is a priority. Proudly serving Dickinson County for nearly a century, Brown Memorial Home remains committed to helping older adults enjoy retirement with comfort, security, and a true sense of belonging.
